THE Arm Injury Prevention Plan for Softball Players
The end of fall is my favorite time of year! I live in the northeast so not only is it beautiful outside, but my summer athletes are finishing up their fall competitive seasons and returning to the gym. The “off-season” is an extremely important time for developing athletes simply because it allows them to “rest”. By rest, I don’t mean completely taking time off from sports and exercise; in fact I mean the opposite. The off-season is THE time for athletes to take care of their body, regenerate and prepare for a pain-free upcoming season.
I don’t need statistics to convince you the majority of softball players will have a sore shoulder or elbow at some time; however, you shouldn’t believe that it has to be part of the culture. With a consistent, comprehensive, proactive strategy, you can keep yourself out of physical therapy and on the field. If your arm was hanging this season, start this program immediately! Here is my 5-step shoulder and elbow injury prevention plan for softball players.
